Who operates this site

Starlink Cottage Lab is operated by Marc Stevens. It is an independent Canadian guide. It is not Starlink, SpaceX, or a retailer of Starlink hardware.

What this site does not collect on a server of its own

• No login and no customer account.
• No mailing list on this site.
• Pages are files. Reading them does not create a profile stored by this project.

Affiliate links

Some links go to Starlink with Marc Stevens’ referral code. If you sign up through that link, he may earn a referral benefit. Starlink, and the payment partners it uses, then handle your order under their own terms and privacy policy. This site does not see your Starlink password, payment card, or service address.

The published offer, when Starlink honours it, is: get CA$140 in cash or Starlink service credit when you sign up through this link. Fast, reliable internet at home and on the go. Terms apply.

Affiliate disclosure: referral links are marked in the HTML with rel="sponsored". They are advertising links, not editorial endorsements from Starlink. Best Buy Canada and Home Depot Canada product links are also marked rel="sponsored"; they are plain retailer links today and may become affiliate links in future.

Analytics

The site includes a small script, analytics.js, prepared for Google Analytics 4. The measurement ID in that file is the placeholder G-XXXXXXXXXX until Marc pastes a real one. While the placeholder is in place, the script does not load Google’s analytics library and does not send page views to Google.

After a real measurement ID is added, Google Analytics 4 can receive standard usage data such as pages visited, approximate location derived by Google, device type, and an affiliate_click event when a referral link is used. That event is limited to the link URL, the page path, and the button label. It is not your name and not the address you later type at Starlink.

You can limit analytics with your browser’s controls, a content blocker, or Google’s own opt-out tools. This static site does not show a second copy of your data that you can log in and delete, because it does not keep an account for you.

Hosting logs

The public site is intended for Cloudflare Pages or a similar static host. Hosts commonly log IP address, user agent, and the URL requested, for security and operations. Those logs are the host’s, under the host’s policy.

No sale of personal information

Starlink Cottage Lab does not sell personal information. It does not rent a list, because it does not have one. The referral relationship with Starlink is a commission-style affiliate arrangement, not a sale of your data by this site.

Other sites

Footer links to other Canadian guides leave this site. Their privacy practices are their own. Starlink’s privacy policy applies once you are on starlink.com.

A public email address is not published on this site yet. Questions about this page can be directed to the operator when contact details are added.

Changes

If the analytics setup or the affiliate relationship changes in a way that matters to readers, this page should be updated and the review date changed. Reviewed 9 October 2026.
